My Welder

hey i hope everyone had a good wekend i know i did sorry for the grammer im just lazy lol. soooo yesterday i got a welder my buddy started asking around to see if anyone could get let me use one of there welders and it turns out that i got one the cool thing though is that i have never seen a welder like the one i got yesterday. it ws suposed to be an arc welder. this is where a person has a welder that has a clamp and then one would put an electrode or rod into the clamp and strik the rod aganist the metal like a match this would cause the electricity to make and "arc"this melts the metal and so on and so forth well anyway this welder that i got was a mig welder and the is a much simpler way to weld it has a gun that shoots wire and when that comes in contact with the metal then the arc is formed. the problem is that the regular mig welders have a co2 gas tank that protects the weld. this is why mine is strange the mig welder i got has no co2 tank. i was think for a while that i would need to get one and those get pretty price well at least to rich for my blood. anyway i was talking to a friend at school who told me that i shouldnt worry because it is just flux cored wire. if you dont know what this means then it means that the arc welding rods have a flux shell instead of a flux core. the flux is a bunch of chemicals that turn into a coating that protects the weld also the flux creates slag which is like a hard serface that covers the weld while it is being heated.
